Happy Valentine's Day

Friday or Saturday (it's all a fog) I saw a person on Flickr who drew with her nondominant hand so I tried drawing with my left hand, too.
It took a lot of energy to work with my left hand.

Then, I've survived a teenage sleepover. Just two girls, but it was CRAZY. I didn't think it would be that bad. I don't remember being like that as a 13 year old. And poor James couldn't understand that the girls didn't want to play with him. Even though I was happy that Caitlin has someone who enjoys the things she does, I was glad when it was over on Sunday. While it went on, I locked myself in my room and played with markers.

These are like starbursts I used to make as a child with crayons.
Sunday, Gary went back to KC. This gave me some time to make Valentine's Day cards for my students. I had fun.
They are bookmark sized.

What lucky kids to get personalized Valentines from their teacher!

I wouldn't dare post photos of drawings by my left hand!

Wow Annemarie, you have so much talent! I can't draw right handed, let alone left handed! Your students are indeed very lucky to receive handmade Valentine's. Hope you laminated them!

Hugs,
Carrie

Love the marker drawings. Sounds like a good way to keep yourself occupied during a teenage sleepover:) And, I agree with the above post, drawing with my right hand is hard enough!:) I guess that is why I like writing in Japanese, it makes me feel like an artist!

No Annemarie, we weren't like that... we were quite, shy and neat little girls... but I would love to have a sleepover with you and 'outburst' your daughter! Ha! It looks difficult to write or doodle with the other hand, I'm not going too... I have enough trouble drawing right! Love your Valentine-bookmarks!!!

Not bad, non-lefty! I'm pretty much ambidextrous but when I couldn't choose I was taught to write and draw with my right hand. There are other things for which I prefer my left hand. I sometimes write with left but haven't drawn with it for a while (not with my right hand either, btw ;-) ), I should try to see if I still can!

Congrats on surviving the sleepover (I dread the sleepovers - don't know why them call them that when they DON'T SLEEP!) Hey, your left hand drawing is great for a non-leftie! Have a good day :-)

You are so talented! When I had surgery on my right hand, I learned to do a lot of things with my left hand -- but it wasn't drawing.

Looks like you are ambidextrous Annemarie! I have TWO nondominant hands when it comes to drawing... writing too as I can barely read my own writing these days.

Hope I will be able to have several sleep overs in 2012.

Hope you have a peaceful weekend.
Hugs

Great left-handed art, and I love the Valentines for your students.

... awww sleepovers. Our last one consisted of the girls pulling an all- all-nighter. They finally fell asleep when I ran out to get breakfast for them. Everyone was sound asleep when I got back.
