Things Keep Changing

I started this blog almost six year ago. And, yes, it has been dormant for a bit. This is mostly because of Facebook. Before Facebook, if my kids did something silly or interesting or if I felt I had something "profound" to say, I would post it on Blogger. Now, it is so quick and easy to share these ramblings as a status update. I am sure many bloggers feel the same way. I do miss the process of blogging. I loved receiving the notifications that people have commented on the blog or looking at the stats to see how many times people have stopped in to see what quip I felt the needed to share with the world. Blogging has brought me many benefits, the greatest of which is the circle of friends I have "collected" over the years. Way back when I blogged regularly, I would correlate music with my post. I would then share the background of the music that was playing with some little bit of my history. I did this using Playlist.com. Unfortunately, Playlist has changed ...

Dance Like No One Is Watching...

...even when they are. This guy Blaine Hogan is something else! You have to see this and tell me that it doesn't make you smile. HAPPY FRIDAY DANCE PARTY INTERNET MASH-UP from blaine hogan on Vimeo . It all started here...Yep... even more smiles. Happy Friday Dance Party #1 from blaine hogan on Vimeo . We should all feel so free to dance like this no matter what. In the morning, I turn on my play list and make James breakfast. While he is eating I dance around the house. I wouldn't mind showing you the dancing...it's the messy house I don't want to share on the internet. :-) So tomorrow morning (or this morning if you are early morning blog reader) while waiting for your eggs to boil or your coffee/tea to brew, break out the tunes and have a little or a lotta fun. I will. PS - Please, go on over and share some love with this Blaine here or here where I found the videos.

Thanks Hilde Iren

I have such good friends, always sharing things with me to help me prep for my long awaited trip to Norway. (Insert *sigh* now who are ready for me to go so I can stop planning.) Well, in a series of clicking blog loves of Norwegian friends, I encountered Hilde Iren . After my posting on her jewelry blog, she caught on that I was headed to Norway in just 1 month, 3 weeks and 3 days. :-) She has since shared with me a neat railway to the top of Bergen and today sent me a link to this video. (It is from television show.) (I can't get the video small enough, no matter how I size it.) It is just lovely, Hilde. Thanks for sharing it with me. I tried to add it to my blog playlist but there was only one song that featured her and it wasn't this one. I will have to add it to my traveling playlist when I get an iPod. Just 1 month, 3 weeks and 3 days more and then you won't hear me planning it, but then you get to put up with me sharing all my great travel pics. Get ready!

How Cool Is This?

How do they know? How do they do it? What am I talking about? Well, this morning I stumbled upon a neat online music station called Jango that is playing so many of my favorite songs. How'd I find it? I was looking for some lyrics for "Kick" by INXS and there was a player button at the top of the page so I clicked - something I would rarely do because of viruses. Fortunately, I was greeted by Jango.com. It reminds me of Playlist.com, which is no longer available to my international friends. Jango allows me to pick a band like INXS and then it starts pulling other performers from the same genre and makes a "radio station" for me to listen to during the day - well not school days. I can add other groups to the list or I can make another station based on other genres. I have been sitting here listening to INXS, Midnight Oil, The Power Station (Bang a gong), Duran Duran, and eww Culture Club (I could do without Karma Chameleon) and so on. It seems like a nice way ...
