You Know It's Bad When...

You know your lawn must really need to be mowed when people are ringing your doorbell asking if you would like your lawn done. See Exhibit A:
(Hmmmm! Anyone notice anything about the company's name???)

A nice guy I am sure, but my dog was barking mad when he came to the door, and I was pretty sure my husband would get around to it eventually.
So hubby, Mr. Gary Victory, if you don't want me to get a different Victory Lawn & Landscape service, then you better get around to it. (I went and got you one just in case you are having difficulty finding yours.)

Vicarious Living

Once before in this blog, I talked about living vicariously through my daughter. I am not afraid to admit it. Well, here is one more thing my daughter can do that I never did. I won't say "I couldn't do" since it never came up when I was a child. My brother is the golfer in the family, but I was already out of the house when he picked up this past time. I on the other hand was an avid miniature golfer thanks to our church's youth groups effort to find us family friendly fun.

Well, here are the latest photos from Golf Camp.

They say who you are is a collection of the people who came before you. My brother Andre and I never really had the opportunity to get to know our grandparents. I met my mother's father when I was two or so, but he passed away when I was five. My brother wasn't even born yet. My mother lost her mother at a young age as did my father. Andre and I were fortunate enough to meet our grandfather Don Felix a couple of, but he only spoke Spanish, and at that time we only spoke English. (That's a whole 'nother story.)

My parents do have pictures of our many relatives. That is quite a blessing as I have met many people who have no pictures of their ancestors. My brother and I grew up seeing these pictures and hearing stories about some of them. I have been going through some of those photos and have used pictures of my mother's parents to create a scrapbook page on Scrapblog.

I created this layout in response to Noel's challenge using Virginia T's design. The journaling is in Spanish and says, "Because I never met you, from time to time, I look at your pictures and ask myself, 'Which of you am I most like?' "

Faries & Dreams

I created this layout using a picture of my girl that was taken on our way to a birthday/halloween party. I used Scrapblog to create this in response to a "Pencil Lines" sketch designed by Yukari Takanashix. I am thankful for Scrapblog because if I had to have all the paper I would have used making these layouts, I would be in the poor house. As it is, my husband is threatening to disconnect my internet connection. ;-)

My Heart is Pink

I was reading someone's blog today and came across an funny quiz. I took it for kicks and here is what it had to say about me.

Now, of course I am married, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

Your Heart Is Pink

In relationships, you like to play innocent - even though you aren't.

Each time you fall in love, it's like falling for the first time.

Your flirting style: Coy

Your lucky first date: Picnic in the park

Your dream lover: Is both caring and dominant

What you bring to relationships: Romance

Some Day (TDX Challenge #13)

I am trying my hand at another scrap challenge.

Let's see how it does.

In case you can't read it:

Some day. I say it all the time.
"Mom, can we go to Six Flags?" "Some day."
"Mom, will you let me get contacts?" "Some day."
My children aren't the only ones to hear this response. I often say it to myself.
"Some day I will get that passport."
"Some day I will go to England,
or Norway, or Australia, or even Japan."
Now saying, "Some day" is not a bad thing in my eyes. The worst thing I could constantly say or think is

Scavenger Hunt

I am a new member of SIStv, a scrapbooking site. There are occasionally scavenger hunts posted on their message boards. I tried my hand at one. It was fun, but I am missing a street sign. I was able to find most of the items in my catalog of photos. I wasn't able to get out of the house to take a picture of the stop sign down the street.
(You will notice that I have since added a street sign. 6/8/2007)

Below is a slideshow. Just point to the picture and controller will come up.

Here are the objects I had to look for:
A Flower
A Glass Object (A glass corey filter rod)
A Shoe
A Candle (happy birthday Aunt Rose)
Something Red (Cait's dorkey homemade hood)
A Car (In the snow on Easter)
Something older than you are (A tree at McMurry University)
The view outside a window of your home (A rose bush that hasn't died)
The cover of a magazine
A Clock
Your computer area (That was a mess)
Something white
A vegetable or fruit
hands or feet
A kitchen utensil
A piece of jewelry
A calendar
Yourself in the mirror with your camera! (That was hard not to get a flashback)
A street sign (not there) (added)
A sunset (Memorial Day)
Rule: You cannot use a photo more than once so a red car cannot be used for something red and a car, it must be one or the other.

Reverse Graffiti

I saw this YouTube video on a blog called Texas Dream. It amazes me how creative people are. I am also baffled as to why the government wouldn't mind having such a dirty wall, but want cares about someone's art that didn't put anything onto the wall but actually took some away (the dirt that is.)

Check out the end to see with the authorities finally do.
